Session 1: Implementing EduRoam On Your Campus

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

EduRoam is a distributed authentication system that grants guests wireless network access by verifying credentials with their home institution (https://www.eduroam.us/introduction). Once the client configuration is complete, a client can roam to any participating EduRoam partner’s wireless network worldwide with no additional configuration. Participants include (at the time of this writing) 397 institutions from the USA, 89 in Canada, and institutions in 65 nations worldwide.

This presentation will display the nuts and bolts configuration of EduRoam start to finish. We will discuss thoroughly how the system works, initial contact, setting up the system on Radius, firewall policies, wireless controller setup, client configuration, testing, announcing the system to the campus, configuring client setup utilities, and full rollout. We will talk about how the implementation at Davidson College proceeded, its successes, costs, and failures.
